Pahawang Islands

Located in the South Lampung district of Lampung province on the great island of Sumatra, Pahawang Island is divided into two areas, Pahawang Besar (Big Pahawang) and Pahawang Kecil (Small Pahawang). Aside from the two Pahawang Islands, many other islands surround the area.

One of the most popular activities to do on this island is snorkeling. All snorkelers would be fascinated by the colorful corals and sea life beneath the island’s crystal clear waters.

Arrive Jakarta no later than 10.30 pm. Pick up from the airport and right away we will head to Merak Port to cross to Bakauheni on Sumatra Island. The total journey to reach Ketapang Port where we embark to our sailing ship is about 8 hours.

Expected to arrive at Lampung around 7 am. We will stop at the local mini market for our last chance to purchase necessities for our live onboard experience. After that, we will continue our journey to the Ketapang port. At the port, before sailing, we will have a safety briefing. Check in to the cabin and enjoy the sailing.

Today, we will explore Umang Umang Island, Sebuku, and Sebesi Islands. The last two islands are the closest to Krakatoa – a volcanic island that erupted in 1883 and was known as one of the deadliest volcanic eruptions in modern history.

Today we will have an educational tour of Krakatoa. After breakfast, we will have a chance to snorkel at Sebesi Island. From there, we will continue to Sijebi Batu Bolong, a hill that one end looks like an elephant with its trunk. The local folktale said that the elephant is the watcher or guardian of the Krakatoa.

Next, we will sail to Teluk Hantu, a small bay with a white sandy beach. We can swim, snorkel or just relax by the beach here. Lastly, enjoy the sunset at Unang Island and enjoy dinner on the beach.

If we are lucky, we will get to see dolphins! Before we sail back to the port, we will enjoy the scenery around Wayang Isle or commonly known as Botak Island. Some say the landscape looks like Wayag in Raja Ampat, hence, the name Wayang. We will arrive at the port around 11 am. Transfer to the airport to catch our flight and return to Jakarta. Expected to arrive at Jakarta not later than 5 pm.
