Timor Island


As one of the three largest islands in East Nusa Tenggara (comprising Sumba, Flores and Timor), Timor island is now shared by two independent countries. The island’s eastern part being the newly independent East Timor – or Timor Leste, while the island’s western part is Indonesian territory. Kupang is the capital city of the province of East Nusa Tenggara, perched in the southwestern part of Timor Island.

Topographically, Timor differs from the rest of the East Nusa Tenggara islands. The cause of this is that unlike other Nusa Tenggara islands, Timor is in fact geologically related to Australia, and therefore has no volcanoes. While it geographical location and long history and tradition make it culturally Indonesian.



Kupang, the capital of East Nusa Tenggara, is the biggest city on Timor Island.

Crystal Cave

After trekking for about half an hour, it will get us to this hidden water cave with crystal clear water.

A green grassland with wild horses that is also great to catch sunset.

Mauhalek Waterfall

A peaceful and beautiful waterfall resides in Belu Regency, which is called Siata Mauhalek Waterfall.

Cristo Rei

The Cristo Rei of Dili statue is a 27.0-metre-high (88.6 ft) colossal statue of Jesus Christ situated atop a globe at Cape Fatucama in Dili, East Timor.

Ai Pelo

Ai Pelo Prison or Aipelo Prison is a historic late-nineteenth-century Portuguese colonial prison in East Timor.

Atauro Island

Atauro is a small oceanic island and municipality situated north of Dili, East Timor, on the extinct Wetar segment of the volcanic Inner Banda Arc, between the Indonesian islands of Alor and Wetar. The remote island offers pristine beach with great underwater life.


Arrive at Kupang. Breakfast, and we will go to Atambua by car. Along the way, we will make stop by at Sasando house to see the traditional musical instrument, and also Crystal Cave. Lunch break and continue our journey to Fatumnasi (4-5 hours). Stay overnight at homestay at Fatumnasi.


Wake up call for sunrise and followed by the village traditional dance performance. Continue our journey to Kefamenu, stay overnight at Kefamenu.


After breakfast, check out. We will travel to Atambua which will take about two hours. Explore Mauhalek Waterfall and enjoy the sunset at Fulan Fehan before heading to our accomodation at Atambua.


After breakfast, check out from hotel. Registering for crossing border to Timor Leste. Journey to Dili will take about 3.5 hours. Reach Dili, we will stop at the historic late nineteenth-century Portuguese colonial prison, Ai Pelo.

Today we will visit a few places such as Tais Traditional Market, the 3rd tallest Jesus statue in the world, Cristo Rei, and the Tasitolu, the 6 m high statue of the late Paus Yohanes Paulus 2. We will end the day by spending time at the white sandy beach at Areia Branca Beach for sunset. Back to hotel in Dili.

Check out. We will go to the harbour and take the boat crossing to Atauro Island around 7 am. Upon arrival, we will drop our stuff at the lodge. We can do fun dive in the morning for certified divers or Discovery Scuba in the morning for those non-certified (excluded). Then we can either explore the eastern part of the island for snorkeling or visit the local art and craft by the cooperative of women in the village (either one).

After breakfast, we will try out luck to spot the Cetacean – Spotted, Spinner, Bottle-nosed and Rough-toothed Dolphins, Pilot and Melon-headed Whale. Afternoon will befree programme to explore the island on your own.
