Renowned for its bustling night markets, delectable street food, and friendly locals, Taiwan offers a feast for the senses. Its dynamic capital, Taipei, is a bustling metropolis filled with towering skyscrapers juxtaposed against ancient temples, reflecting the harmonious blend of tradition and modernity.

Beyond the urban sprawl, Taiwan boasts picturesque mountain ranges, pristine beaches, and lush forests, making it a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. With a resilient spirit and a thriving democracy, Taiwan continues to carve out its place on the global stage as a beacon of progress and diversity in the Asia-Pacific region.

Green Island

Nestled 21 miles off Taiwan’s eastern coast, Green Island, or Ludao, offers an idyllic retreat from the bustling mainland. Far from the chaos of urban life, here you’ll find tranquillity amidst pristine coastlines, verdant mountains, and lush greenery. With a population of just over 3000 residents, this tiny island provides a serene sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle, where the only sounds are the gentle lapping of waves and the rustling of leaves in the breeze.

Meet at Taoyuan Airport and then take the high-speed train to Zuoying Station. Afterwards, transfer to a private vehicle to go to Tjuvecekadan for a Welcome Ceremony, guided tour to Taiwan’s only remaining Paiwan Indigenous Village where the homes are built with slate stone, and lunch prepared by Indigenous hosts, and traditional DIY activity. Finally, transfer to a hotel with an infinity pool overlooking the Taiwan Strait.

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the western trailhead of the Jingshuiying Historic Trail. Hike a 16 km national trail known for its endemic, endangered animals and plants. The trail spans three nature reserves and features suspension bridges before reaching the East Coast. Afterwards, transfer to Zhiben Hot Spring Hotel, where our group dinner will be provided.

After having breakfast at the hotel, we will drive north along the east coast to Sanxiantai Arch Bridge. They will stop for an early lunch, with a view of the ocean, before taking the ferry to Green Island. In the afternoon, there will be guided SUP boarding, followed by dinner and socializing at a local hostel.

Wake up to the soothing sounds of the ocean at the beachfront hostel, offering a chance to embrace Green Island. You have the option to relax and explore at your own pace or participate in morning and afternoon snorkeling or scuba diving activities (at additional costs).

After a leisurely morning, we will board a private 9-passenger van for a guided tour around one of Taiwan’s top-rated outlying islands. This island is the ancestral home of the Tao Tribe, one of Taiwan’s 16 indigenous tribes. We will have the opportunity to explore the island by van. After lunch, we will take a ferry back to the main island and transfer to Kaohsiung. Check in to our accommodation located in the trendy Pier 2 district with pedestrian boulevards, shops, and galleries along the waterfront. Free time afterwards.

Wake up and enjoy breakfast at the hotel. After check-out, we will have time to explore Kaohsiung, Taiwan’s second largest city, including its unique cultural sites, vibrant waterfront, or chill out on Cijin Island. Programme ends here.
