Remember Flores & Komodo Islands
Hey, Explorers!

Today, my heart is heavy as I write this newsletter.
On August 15, 2026, a magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck off the coast of Flores Island in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
The earthquake and subsequent aftershocks affected several regencies, including Manggarai, Sikka, Ende, and Nagekeo, leaving dozens of casualties, thousands of people displaced, and severe damage to homes and local infrastructure.
And, sadly, it has been almost a week and the situation is still ongoing.
East Nusa Tenggara holds a special place in my heart, and I believe it does in the hearts of many of our community members as well.
It is a region known for its warm hospitality, rich traditions such as its beautiful woven ikat, and breathtaking natural landscapes—from Kelimutu National Park and the secluded 17 Islands Riung National Park to the traditional village of Wae Rebo, and many more.
Please keep East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) in your prayer and hope for the soonest recovery.
